Anybody have one of these?

Is there a benefit to 22 inch barrel vs the 16 inch carbine barrel?

I hear the stocks are kind of flimsy as well.

Thanks

Are you asking about Ruger American Ranch Rifle? Thought they were 16" and available in 5.56 and 300 BLK.

i thought the others used an AICS style.

The only real difference between 2 of the same caliber would be velocity and portability

I know next to nothing about their Americans....have more experience with the M77 lineup.

Their Scout Rifles are anything but flimsy, I can assure you.

A buddy has one of these in .308Win with at Trijicon scope on it in the receiver rings, not in the forward scout position.

Gun shoulders rock solid and feels great.

One of these is certainly on my "want-list".....but after more reloading gear, M1A,, two scopes, another Colt 1911 and a Dan Wesson revolver.

the American Ranch Rifle uses AR mags in 5.56 and 300BLK. The Ranch is the shorter barrel. The Short Action Ruger American, the longer barrel, uses an AI style mag, if I read it right. The above rifle is their Scout model and I think it uses AI mags too.

I have the Ranch rifle in 7.62X39 and it is super accurate. I took it to the range along with several Model 77's and a couple of # 1's and it out did them all.
