Anybody heard the date next month squrriel season opens ?

For the past few years it's started August 15. Unless they change it.

Oh for sure. One can't go protecting the rest of the world from damage like some sort of Super Hero.

I know of one that needs to go, lol. Squirrel chewed through a fiber optics cable and we got it replaced, then a week later he chewed through that cable!! We have “squirrel guard” on it this time hoping it will deter him or at least keep the customer up for a few weeks! Squirrels are job security, lol!

The day it opens me and some wma pigs have a date with my .50cal! Not sure what qualifies it as a small game weapon, but I'm glad for it. August 15 since my childhood best I can remember.

Going to try some early hunting this year. I have been going after deer season ends but the herd is thinned by then.

We have a more troublesome skwerl population down here and it requires a firmer hand.

Very few folks hunt around here that early. The parasites turn most away. But it gives ya a chance to get on public lands and kill a pig !
