Maverick

Went to movies for first time in 2 yrs, seen Maverick was pretty good not as good as original but they very seldom are. The new mission impossible coming out next year looks promising.

Once I separated my dislike of Tom Cruise the scientology cult member from the fictional movie character.....I actually enjoyed Maverick.




As far as him portraying Jack Reacher.....sorta short for that role.

There is another Jack Reacher mini-series on Prime that is much closer to the novels and really good.

The movie was a tribute to aviation. The videography was as close to being low level as one can get without being there. I saw it in IMAX and it about blew me out of the seat.

If you were looking for a shootem up character to match a video game, wrong movie.

I was raised by a career Air Force Pilot, grew up around aviation, did my hitch working on F-16s and F4s about the time the original came out. I got a pilot's license at the aero club, and owned a Piper Cherokee with my Dad.

Cruise sux as a person, but I enjoyed Maverick a lot...

I don't know why they didn't just send a drone, it would have eliminated the need to dog fight the other pilots after destroying the target. I mean, it set up lots of action, but I also had a hard time believing they just left the target open to attack as long as they stayed in the valley. Was like the death star and they set up all those defenses, except if they flew in the valley.

Cuz the whole point of the movie was that they still could use a real pilot in the seat.

They weren't shooting at the balloon. They were and did destroy the recording device but only after it recorded and sent it's info.

They didn't send those females up there. I did have to snicker at the miss and they dont have a clue where it is.
