Truck Chip Key

Mine was a 2016 Nissan, fobs for it are easy to program. The chipped key was what I needed.

I think it depends on the level of options a truck has in those years back then,

The 150 was an XLT and the 250 is a Lariat.

F-150s tend to have the extra doodads more often it seems. Maybe because they sell many more of them. Anymore, they are basically a Cadillac with a bed.

Mine is a lariat. So maybe since I don't know if it's chipped the best thing to do is call a locksmith?
If it was chipped could I hold my good key next to the un chipped key and it would work. I tried that and it didn't work. Key goes in but it doesn't turn forward at all.
Wonder if I could find out from the VIN# or somthing?

I've had good luck with these guys: Ordered a new chip key for a 2012 F150, comes with the programming computer to plug into your truck.
