Beautiful rifle! What caliber?

Must be a 44 Mag. Other cartridges didn’t come out until 1979 and later.

Yes it’s a 44 mag. And yes, I believe the 1894 .357 came out in 79’…not 100% sure on the 1979 .357 model number tho….I have a 2017 mfg 1894c .357 (18” bbl)
Very well made. Great F&F and accurate
with both 38’s and .357
