I haven't posted many pics since the PhotoBucket fiasco. What free hosting service are folks using thses days?

same here....and hard drive.....back it up to the cloud daily....I've never used a pic hosting site......

Imgur is decent for a hosting service. Photobucket will allow you to share again, but they will all have a Photobucket water stamp on the picture. They knew they messed up with that stunt they pulled about subscribing to share images.
Uploading from my phone is good, but I often find the file is too large for the GON server to handle. So you have to crop, resize or screenshot the picture and they will upload all day long.

99% of the time, I save them on my hard drive and upload them as attachments. If I use a hosting service nowadays, it's usually flickr.
