Try Paulding Forrest or Sheffield in Paulding County.I live in Marietta ga. Can anyone tell me where I can hunt squirrel in the Wma area. I went to Pine Log WMA and didn't even see bird. Any help would be great
What time of day did you go? Did you just walk around? Did you see any sign of squirrels cutting? Did you see any tracks? Did you hear any squirrels barking? I have never been to Pine Log but I'm sure it has squirrels. Go back early morning or late afternoon and report back here.Pine log has a couple entrances. I was at check station. I followed their directions on web site. Any suggestions please. Thanks for help
This is good advice right hereFind a pretty spot, sit down, and don’t move a muscle. You will be surprised how many squirrels you see.
Good advice right here.Find you some fresh cuttings on a log or a stump. Sit and be still for awhile. Try calling them, you can take 2 quarters and grind the edges together and it sounds like a squirrel cutting. Them rascals are nosey...they will start peeking at you real soon. Whatever their feeding on, probably young hickory nuts, there will be several in the same tree or close to each other. Early season is the time to call, they cant see cause all the leaves and will move around better. Squirrel hunters either learn woodsman ship or eat chicken when they get home. If the fresh cuttings are there, they are there too.
Fish and rat,new taste sensation. Muscadines for dessert.Yeah the ol' cemetery was quite a honey hole back when I was younger. Even got a couple of fox squirrels off the high side. Must have been even more popular before my time and before the WMA was established - folks were just dying to get in there.
My brother and I used to wade down Stamp Creek, one with a fishing pole and one with a .22. We'd reach the bridge with a stringer of trout and a stringer of tree rats every time. Swapped out after each rat. Was a lot of fun.
Hey 20,. Out of Canton before the check station and stamp creek there is parking,. Go north up a big ridge, get up to the top and sit,. Wait, wait, wait, oh did I say wait. ? I used to get a bunch there,. When you get tough know it lots of land. There is an old cematary from the 1700's up there, when you find that your in the real good spot.
