2022 Kill Numbers for WMA

This seems to be the source:

Turkey takes county and WMA

A quick browse of places I go shows me the surprising result that exactly one turkey was taken in Swallow Creek last year. Granted its not ideal habitat (and I've never seen any birds there, come to think of it) but still...

Pine Log's almost one turkey taken per sq mile.

Food for thought.
WMA manager told me even durning the season. He would see gobblers. Told a few abouts where. He said after the season. They where still there.
Not saying the place was covered in them. But it had a few birds.

Wonder why no one is finding piles of feathers from die off and things line that.
I’m sure it would get posted by folks finding that.

I’ve found them dead. This year in fact. If you chunk a carcass out there, it disappears extremely quickly. I use my cleaned carcasses to trap over sometimes. If a yote or bobcat gets there first and takes it, you won’t usually find any sign of it. Their small bodies disappear and don’t leave skeletons that can be seen for years like deer.
