I bought an old 16 foot self contained camper and towed it to my Monroe County lease a couple of weeks ago. My plan is to build a deck in front and some kind of roof over it.
Any suggestions on how to go about it, type of roof, etc.?
I'm going down this weekend to get started and plan on putting 6 4 X 4s in the ground with cement after laying it all out. How do I go about squaring them up? Once I get the frame up, should I build rafters on the ground and then nail them up or just build a flat roof with a little slope to it?
I'm fairly good with a hammer and saw but have never built anything like this before. If anyone has suggestions or pictures of how you built yours I'd love to see them.
