Catfish and Clams

So we rented a house at Lake Sinclair for the next few days. I set out a small trotline and caught a few channels and one decent blue cat. The blue cat had clams in its stomach. Anyone else ever seen that? First for me.

Yep, my buddy's dock is on a mussel bed at the end of a cove and every cat we catch has mussels in them. We can catch catfish all year off his dock because of that mussel bed.

Fresh water clams are deadly on channel cats here in Florida. Problem is finding them; not every body of water here has them.

Those Asian Corbicula clams are good catfish bait.

Bluecats love clams. Why, is beyond me. You can literally hear them rattling in their stomachs at times.
