Marshmallow fit perfectly inside dog proof traps.

I agree with this and although I don't think a cat will mess with a marshmallow, I don't like the idea of using these traps where there are pets.

Whole corn is my go to, cracked will work too. I have found the sweet bait can attracts ants.

Been thinking I need to put some out. They do have a taste for it.

They will. They will also eat rabbits, squirrels, quail, songbirds, etc!!!!!

This I wouldn't mind if they actually ate them. Had baby rabbits off the front porch, put a camera on them for the wife and kids. Neighbors cat killed and left them all right there. Cats are no longer protected around here.
