Deere 1020 - nice tractor for someone

Really nice , straight Deere 1020

89 year old man has it, lives not far from me. Stopped and chatted with him today for about 45 mins and really enjoyed it.

38 hp

Runs like a top

Seems to be tight

Will need some rear rubber but a tractor like this would be a good, casual plot and deer farming tractor.

He is asking $3500.

I just sold my little tractor. It was exactly that size and hp. One that size can be very handy in the woods, and I bet it’ll sell quick at that price.

I wanted a friend's 1010 until I did some internet research on them. There seems to be a problem with the way the engine was designed, something to do with what's called a "decked" block design and availability/cost of repair parts. Believe it covered just the 10 series tractors. I passed that tractor up. Do your research and make a informed decision. /

It has been running since the late 60’s or early 70’s, I would tend to think it has proven itself.

I would not be afraid of the engine in the slightest.
