Government: Stay home!

It's kinda funny ( not humorous ). When it's bad flue season people have enough common sense not to go around crowds...stay away from stores and such. But let a deadly virus break out and the Gov try to warn you and protect you a little and tell you how bad it's spreading ......awwww heck no ! I'm going anyway....Liberty.....freedom ....do as I want. The heck with everybody else. Never seen so many William Wallaces and chest thumping. And I ain't big on being told what to do.But when you drag it back home and give it to somebody elderly you love, might be to late. You can't even visit sick people at the hospital right now. Common sense is not common anymore.

The fastest way to get a lot of people to buck is to let an authority figure tell them to do something. Maybe it doesn’t make sense but it’s the way it is.

There’s absolutely no need for all the dust up. GA DNR is encouraging folks to get out. Just stay separated. This was in the weekly trout stocking update.

Top 3 things you need to know about Governor Kemp’s Shelter in Place Executive Order:
  1. Outdoor exercise activities will include hunting, fishing, and boating, provided individuals maintain a distance of six (6) feet between all persons who are not occupants of the same household or residence.
  2. Travel is permitted to perform hunting, fishing, and boating activities.
  3. Camping is also allowable on our WMAs and PFAs, provided individuals maintain a distance of six (6) feet between all persons who are not occupants of the same household or residence.

I’ve known for some time now that my days were numbered since net neutrality didn’t pass and will be the end of us all. I figure this virus is nothing compared to that.

First I’m with each and everyone of you that Hunting and fishing is my passion. But we need to exercise common sense to protect each other, and be able to continue doing what we love when this thing passes, and it will. I live in the worst place right now which is New York. Fortunately I’m on eastern Long Island , but it’s spreading our way daily. Some of my friends and neighbors have tested positive, which is scary. I went shed hunting in the Pine Barrens yesterday. On my way back to my car a woman was on the trail, I went back in the woods and passed her at a safe distance and waved good morning. Sounds crazy, but I’m not taking any chances. To get back on topic, we are learning more each day about this virus. God bless y’all and stay well....

Dumb question: how are we supposed to enjoy this nice weather, hunt and fish when Governor Kemp has ordered a stay at home order for the state? Will we really be fined and even arrested for driving?

The reality is nobody in law enforcement wants to cuff anyone and put them in the car with them. They are protecting themselves too.
Read the list of what is acceptable and legal. Almost all require driving.

Live free and keep your distance! Not hard to do both. In fact, as a general rule, the more people im around, the less free i feel!

Late to the game to respond, but i'm in Suwanee and our walking trails are PACKED with people. Parks are as well.

I have seen McGinnis Ferry boat launch area has been closed for about a month, perfect time to be fishing on the hooch w/my boat.
Lanier is open.
