I'm a 53 year old new school fella although when I carry the smoke pole I carry the "possibles" in this bag too :bounce:

This is what I tend to carry as the season unfolds.

Thermos of coffee and cup when it's cold
Water if no coffee or if all day hunt
Grunt
Can call
Antlers
Rangefinder
Backup release
Pull rope
Binos (sometimes already wearing them)
Sockhat once it cools off
Neck Gaiter once it cools off
Thermocell if any chance of the devil showing up
Headlamp and spare batteries
Skinning knife (depending where I am hunting), pocket knife always
Small multi tool
Thin gloves
Around the waist muff when it cools off
Umbrella if any chance of rain
Rolled up waterproof boonie hat. Stays in bottom of bag all season
Handwarmers
Folding handsaw (depending where I am hunting)
2 Screw in hooks
Screw in bow arm
Couple of bandaids
Power bank for phone
Toilet paper
Wet wipes
A gear retriever
Extra D ring for harness
Extra pair of socks when it gets cold

And food. Gotta have food

Mine is patterned after the Scottish Sporran but with a shoulder strap, made by Ed Lunderman. It always has these items in it, not matter what type hunting season is in. Lense cleaner, compass, collapsible wire gun cleaning rod with silicon patches, cordage, antler predator call and lanyard made by Lamar Pullen, flint & steel with char, bee wax candle stub, chert knife blade and extra chert striker all in a 1750`s style tin box, bug dope, blood clotter, flashlight, knife sharpener, and ferro rod.
