I called Lowe’s to order a cordless blower they don’t have in stock. I wanted to use a gift card towards the purchase and have the item delivered to my home. They couldn’t accept the gift card as payment and there would be a $79 delivery charge but if I come to the store and place the order (a fifty mile round trip) I can apply the gift card and the delivery fee would be waived if the item is shipped to the store. So I have to go to the store and place the order and then return to the store to pick up the item. I want this specific blower because it’s 80v and I already have a battery and charger. I tried placing the order online and the website is extremely slow and every time I tried to complete the order I would get an error message. If not for the fact that I already have a battery for this particular blower I’d just do something else. It shouldn’t be this aggravating to place an order.

I use my Lowe’s card and get 5 more percent off. They don’t have much choice with gift cards. So many scams out there.
They slipped for the first time with us last month. We ordered a dishwasher to pick up at the store. Every time it came in they called and when we went to pick up, someone sold it before we got there.
It worked out as they gave us another $100 off the sale price for our trouble and saved one in the special order area.
We have only ordered once from Home depot during the crazy times and they never completed the order. We had to take a credit and buy the cushions for the outdoor set from Lowe’s.

Lowe’s is 50 mile round trip for me. That’s not far and I go there a good bit. My parents caught some disease where they thought getting out of the house and driving more than 5 miles was far.

I live in a rural area. It’s twenty five miles to either store for me. We do have a couple of Ace stores within twelve miles with one selling building supplies. The distance doesn’t bother me if it keeps people from moving here.

They don't call it slowes for nothing. Lowe's be looking more and more like a harbor freight these days with all the Chinese junk they fill the store with. Home depot for the win

The only thing I buy from either is building materials. Acme tool, max tool, Ohio power tool, is where I buy all my power tools and hand tools. I get my electrical hand tools straight from Japan, way better quality and price even with shipping and currency exchange

I agree, it’s not that far and I’m in town frequently. I just find it ridiculous that I have to go to the store to place the order.

Our Lowes is a mile away. I can go to the store and take the chance they don't have what I need in stock.

We do 50 miles round trip just to buy groceries. Love the veterans discount at Lowes and the way the employees are ready to help. I never dread going there.

We have Ace rewards too! And they send you a birthday coupon. We have to go to Athens to Lowes. We try to support our community and shop local. Plus we have a GREAT Ace Hardware.
