Moving an unregistered trailer

Hi All,

I am buying a new boat trailer near Lake Lanier and need to transport it (unloaded) to Gainesville, around 25 minutes away. Problem is... It is not yet registered and doesn't have a license plate.

Anyone know someone with a flatbed truck that I could hire to move it? Or maybe someone with dealer plates could use those plates for that short ride?

Or is there some easier way of doing this?

(I'm not registering yet as I will be registering it in a different state, but need to move it before that's done).

I believe, I'm not a lawyer, that you can move it for 30 days on a bill of sale.
A call to the tag office might solve your problem.

Just hook it up and drag it...Show the cops your bill of sale in the extremely unlikely event you get stopped.

Thanks guys. Indeed, I called the tag office and they said I have 7 days to move it, carrying just the bill of sale.
