I honestly think it's a southern thing. I never heard anyone pronounce it with the "L" until I moved here.

Same with "cent" vs "cents". Seems like folks round her like to say "cent" even if it's plural. You either have one cent, or 13 cents. But I digress. I could care less...

Me too. When my Mom dropped us off at the school bus stop, she got a ticket for littering.

fish pattys were a staple, sometimes we didn't have anything to eat mama would sit us around the table and read us her recipes.....had a brother who was deaf- almost starved to death several times....

Salllllllmon here. I think the same people who eat sammun also fish for croppie and drink pop.

SaLmon patties, mashed taters (extra butter) & English peas, favorite of mine growing up, still have it on occasions, but I also like mine with cane syrup now instead of ketchup!:bounce:
