Two-Seed-in-the-Spirit Predestinarian Baptists!

Wow, that's a mouthful. This belief was started by a Georgia minister, Elder Daniel Parker. Parker taught that all persons are either of the "good seed" of God or of the "bad seed" of Satan (the children of the good seed are roughly equivalent to the "elect", and those of the bad seed similar to the "non-elect"), and were predestined that way from the beginning. Therefore mission activity was not only unbiblical, but as a practical matter useless, since the "decision" was already made prior to birth.

Several important preachers on the east coast led in the "anti-missions" movement, but Elder Parker was the leader on the frontier, and probably spoke best to the common man.

Most Primitive Baptist no longer follow that belief or at least they don't call it that. Was reading that there may be one or two in South Georgia.

Valdosta State professor and a Primitive Baptist John G. Crowley, says one may still find Two-Seed doctrines preached by Primitive Baptists in southern Georgia “if one knows where to go and what to listen for.”

My present thoughts is that folks back then must have thought Satan had more power if he had seeds in humans. This is totally different than humans being of the elect or non-elect.
I can see the predestination from birth, just not one being born a seed of Satan.
