What type of fungus

Been growing on a maple tree at our place in Sopchoppy for 3 years or so. Wondering if it's an edible variety. Tree was mostly dead. Been trimming dead parts of the tree for last year or so. Finally took it completely down today. Pics 1 and 2 are from the top before it became horizontal an pic 3 is the bottom.

When I had to cut it off the tree with a chainsaw I realized unless you're a beaver or termite probably not gonna eat this thing.
