Had a lady come in and tell me that her and her customer just saw an Ostrich on the back 40!!!! My 1st thought is escapee from game farm etc. Until she described it as being about waist high and brown.

I believe they referring to the cost of big game license. But I've never met a hunter that only hunted Turkey so I dunno

Turkey is the only bird I hunt but i hunt allot of 4 legged critters including deer and bear so I get allot of bang for my buck.

I would imagine it’s because they require similar amount of management like a big game animal. You can’t just set a limit of 7 per day and leave them alone like squirrels or rabbits.
