Any thoughts on the cheaper bug suits like from Cabelas? Not sure they would work as well as a Shannon Bug Tamer? Need something next time I take a Island deer hunting trip.

I have one of the older Bass Pro versions. Works well enough. Just try and keep the mesh from sitting directly on your skin, that way the the skeeters can't get through. The more expensive suits have an extra layer of mesh to do that for you, but it makes them heavier.
Just be sure to avoid briars and barbed wire!

I use the cheaper ones. You're bound to catch it on something and rip it. I had a double layered one once but found it to be as hot as my regular summer camo so never use it.
I do love wearing shorts and a tshirt in dead off summer.
