Sighting at 25 yards

If the ballistics are what you see above, where do I initially sight in at 25 yards? (range near my house only has 25 yards) Scope will be bore sighted.

I will be checking it as well @ 50yards.

I was thinking a hair under dead center...

i think dead on at 25 is about 1in high at 100yds i think. i sighted my rifle in a 50yds this year and from 30-100yds its dead on, of course it only shoots about 1.3in groups so it could go either way just a tad. if your shoot at 50yds and are dead on, no doubt you can kill a deer out to 150yds. after that id check it

I'd set it about an inch low @ 25. The settings @ 25 will have a huge effect @ 100 and beyond. I set my 7-08 2" high @ 100yds using 140g projectiles. That should put you close to dead on @ 200 yds and help keep you from shooting under a deer @ 25 or 30 yds. These work for me, but like Reagan with the Russians, "verify". Good Luck, Chuckdog.

jbmballistics.com Use ''max range'' at 150yds and ''increments'' at 25yds. You'll have to select a bullet such as Remington,Sierra,Hornady of the proper weight and specify the muzzle velocity. If using a scope, set ''sight height'' at 1.5''. You can ignore the wind for now. Set temp at 50deg and elevation at 900 in N.Ga but not in mtns. It will display your trajectory. Why not select a zero at 125yds ? It wont change the near measurements by much.
Last Sept I sighted on a 100m range and adjusted per the chart for 200m, and had a first round hit at 200m.
One thing you'll like is being able to ''play'' with velocities by substitutng.

I sight in all of my rifles (.270, .30-06, and 7mm-08) 1" low at 25 yards. I've killed deer from 25 to 250 yards with dead on holds. I have 50mm scopes on all my rifles, which changes the ballistics slightly, but all are about 1.5-2 inches high at 100 yards.

As all others have stated about 1 inch low at 25 yards should have you a little high at 100.

What brand ammo are you shooting ... bullet weight in grains.
