2020 Lake Lanier Striper trip for Disabled participants

The date is set for the 2020 Lake Lanier Striper attack. This is a fishing trip for folks with disabilities. The trip will be May 16th at Little Hall Park. Please consider letting a disabled person have a great day of fishing with you. We have folks with a wide range of disabilities so any boat type will work. Of course we always need boats that will accommodate a wheel chair. Pontoons and big CC's work great. But again, any boat type will work. We are fully insured and everyone envolved is covered. If you are interested in helping out, pm me or email owlhunt@att.net and I will put you on the list. If you PM, please include your name and contact number.

You can. We need help on shore with loading and unloading wheelchairs and cooking and serving lunch. We also need second mates on boats sometimes.

And it’s a “cause” that will touch your soul.

My 1st event hosting guests was “miserable” for me the week leading up to the event. I didn’t have a fancy boat or anything.. I had my old J16 and I felt like an outsider with my little ol fishing boat with a 25hp motor. And that was only me thinking!!

It was one of my best days on the water.

I had a guy on my boat with one arm. He literally got fitted for a new prosthetic that week that was wearing sores in his shoulder and didn’t wear it that day.

I dropped a downline and as I watched it drop on my fish finder I saw a streak coming up (along with my guest) and the little Striper nailed it. My guest screams “that was the coolest thing I ever saw” as the rod doubled over. I shoved that rod in his crotch, held the upper part of the rod while he reeled with one arm. When I put the net on that fish he lit up like you wouldn’t believe! That was the best day of fishing he and his wife had seen, ever!!

And we caught 3 fish that day!

Folks, this will touch your heart like never before!

Don’t be scared! You will get more from this event than you will put into it.

As much as I hate it, I am postponing the striper trip due to many participants having compromised immune systems. We will have to just keep an eye on things to see if we can reschedule. Tim
