480 Ruger

I recently aquired a 480 with some 325gr bullets.I'd like to try my hand at hunting with it.I hunt with everything but a pistol now,I'm just not sure what the distance is on a good kill,for this gun.Anyone?Also I need a holster for it.

These are just my thoughts , i will say at what ever distance you can hold your groups in a "pie plate " , about a 8 inch circle . I personally prefer a smaller circle , just me . The 480 its self is capable of a greater distance than that . The 480 would kill a deer out to over a hundred yards easily , you just gotta be able to place the shot in the right spot .Congrats on your new handgun , and good luck hunting with it . Scott
