How do you clean one?

I got a .22 today and with my deer rifle I take the bold all the way out so I have no clue how to clean an auto

If all else fails (no manual etc), take er outside (or over a rag),
and hose it out with WD-40..Inside/outside/barrel...Kinda
pressure wash the slide area, bolt and firing pin area...
brush/mop the slide & barrel, and dry good and keep on shootin'....

Other than a "wipe down" .22 rarely need much attention if used under regular conditions.

WD40 will remove any oil from any metal surface and if not followed up with that light coat of oil (I prefer using R.I.G) will rust.

If you shoot alot, and your accuracy begans to fall off, a good barrel cleaning is in order.

Be careful if you must clean from the muzzle end of the barrel. Protect that crown. Better still if you can remove the bolt (impossible on some rifles) and clean from the chamber side.

A auto does not need alot of oil in the action. Too much will accumulate burnt powder and dust in general and cause jamming.

I was told by a gunsmith many years ago to use a small amount of graphite on the bolt. That has worked well for me.
