Thanks Core but this project is soooo far from a huge success. I appreciate the kind words though! Maybe one day it will be and I sure do love everything about it.
Think about it tho... you took a chance on a dream far from where most would think normal.. now "normal" is having problems far and away from you. Like someone mentioned earlier ... "Bubbagump"...

I know all about the Louisiana crawfish problem. We have an annual crawfish boil in May here at the house. We add all the usual low-country boil veggies, shrimp and a small amount of crab legs as well.

We may have to change course this year, mudbugs are more expensive than crab legs currently.

Just a quick look shows me what we usually order for $159.99 or so is running $359.99 right now.

@Mexican Squealer PM me if you're shipping live to Athens in May.

Always love the product testing…tested for fat content, egg production and eggs in “first crop” crawfish. Strong all the way around. Just wish I’d kept a couple more pounds to sample….

Lord Squealer, your motto must be "go big, or go home". As I recall, this all started as a pond to shoot ducks. But now it has to be close to a full time job?

Yes Sir, luckily I’ve got a young fella who managers the operation and has been there since we started. He handles the day to day stuff and I work after hours and weekends when I’m not working my regular job. More of a side hustle at this point but definitely growing…

One of these days I'm gonna show up at your place and give you a day, or maybe a weekend, of free labor just to see the place.

Brought home a few for dinner…love seeing my 6 yr old boy wear ‘em out. Crawfish seem to have way more “fat” this year and this early. No idea what that means but it is delicious…next molt will make these big ones giants and the small ones will jump to med/large. Gators are messing with my traps. Got my tags last week and will start working on them soon. Only one “close” snake encounter and that was with a short cottonmouth.73C411F6-7535-490B-90CE-41A40C8183DF.jpeg84621B19-F04B-499D-AFCD-DD2C8999D753.jpeg

The two types of crawfish we catch…Louisiana Red Swamp and White River. Both can get big. White River are the true natives….
