Escaping The Heat Camp Eats

For no other reason other than to escape the heat and get away for a few days the wife and I rode up to the highest lake in Georgia which happens to be about 6 miles due east of our house the way the crow flies and about 50 minutes on a fs road. We had no plans other than eat, nap, swim and fish. The first night, grilled chicken legs, fried taters and fried bread were on the menu. It was mighty mighty good...

Then it was time to do the laziest form of fishin' that I know how to do...

After a long day of doing nothing and a good night's rest it was time to eat again..

And then a little more fishing and cooling off in the creek...

After working up a good appetite we cooked steaks, mashed some taters and fried squash. It was edible...

After all of this fine cuisine and a day of doing a whole lot of nothing there was only one thing left to do...

Looks like y'all are doing it up right and eating some delicious food.

Conasauga is a beautiful place surrounded by some beautiful NF lands and within the Cohutta Wildlife Management Area. I know you know that. :bounce:

Only time I swam up there was in July a few years ago. Froze my butt off but it was fun. Seen a few Bear that week too.

You can get lost in Cohutta real bad, real quick.
