Flintlock Questions........

I've found one and I'm thinking about playing around with it. But I dont know the first thing about how they operate.
This one appears to be a millitary type flintlock. It has 2 bands and is not a Pennsylvania or Kentucky type. It looks like a French or an American copy. What kind of flint do I need and what else???? Also thinking of doing some period reenacting if I buy it.

sounds like a pre civil war musket .
Probably a 58 cal but you need to let us know for sure.
To load with you will need FFG powder.Real black power like Goex or Swiss. .The new stuff will not go off in a flintlock.
Some FFFFG for primer..
The locks are usally larger than that of a rifle and needs a larger flint. One inch in width or maybe a little larger depending on the lock size.
I have shot a 58 cal musket many times using a patched round ball and it shot great.
.
Anyway.Like Nic said, need to know what you are dealing with to get the correct answers
