I found these two in the same garden. Both are quartzite I think. I believe the smaller one was dedicated to making points or tools because of the wear to the bottom edge. The larger is wore flat on the bottom and appears to have been broken on purpose. Anyone have thoughts on that ?

Maybe used for pecking. Quartzite is generally too hard for use as a knapping hammerstone. It tends to cone the material and create short flakes and step fractures.
