Martin house?

Any advise on buying or building a martin house? How high do they need to be mounted? Do you clean them out this time of the year/ Is this a good time of the year to start a new one?

Martin houses

I quit martin houses when I found out they eat mostly larger stuff than mosquitos. Especially mosquito hawks, Dragon flys. Look below their houses when they are nesting and you will find dragon fly wings and body parts all over the ground. Dragon flys do eat mosquitos.
Personally I rather have bluebird houses around my place.
