Mock Scrapes

Now I know a guy that claims that this works, I cant vouch for it or not.

There have been all kinds of theories and tips on how to make mock scrapes, etc. Some downright nasty, ie tampons/.etc.

So this guy I know claims that the day before he hunts an area with a mock scrape or he wants to freshen up a new scrape, he uses the normal stuff like Scrape Fix/other deer lure etc.

His secret is that he takes a viagra pill and opens it up, and spreads the contents in the scrape. I dont think it matters if it is brand name or generic...

He says the larger bucks in particular just go crazy and he def sees increased activity, he does have some really good bucks on the wall...

I dont know but... Guess you could test it out with putting a camera on it.

If your buddy has Viagra pills AND he's putting them in scrapes, he has other problems to worry about and should quit spending so much time in the woods..

Also sounds like he's walking around with a jar of the clear stuff..

Priorities is the first thing that comes to mind. Now I love hunting as much as the next guy, its all I can think about, but if hes wasting perfectly good blue diamonds in hopes of killing a deer... instead of using them things for what theyre intended for, he needs to go back to the drawing board.

Also, not condoning selling drugs or anything, but I know folks that will pay good money for them things. He could unload a few, buy a bag of corn and call it good. That way he'd at least be making someones day. Money well spent for both parties.... I guess?

Missing the point guys and getting way off point, seriously the guy really believes it works. Could it really from a science perspective get the larger bucks hyped up? Just to clarify he is not a buddy, just someone I know that hunts in SW GA. I promised him I would not disclose his identity...

Do any of you have any extra that you could do a controlled experiment with a camera? Do a scrape with it and a scrape without it?

I mean if it proves out, one good thing is that it could get attention off that long running hotly debated baiting thread...

Well for one the rut in general is pretty much over.
The other is the ground they smell it and paw it. Never seen one lick it. They pee in it and poo. The limbs they rub there fore head and mouth the Twigs on the end. Sometimes breaking them but not off the tree.
To get this pill in there system I believe it would take a feed near the scrape with it ground up in it.

I’m not into that experiment.

I dont want to get off track on the original question and discussion, but have any of you tried the Scrape Fix products this year? This is a serious thread, as I hope you can tell from below points.

I saw what I believe is a definite increase over using other deer lures for mock scrapes. Now I believe the "vine" may work, but I only used the three products like the normal early season powder, the scrape ignitor that I used later pre rut and beginning of early rut, and then their Peak Rut the last two being liquids.

I had bucks and does, all sizes even pre rut coming to mock scrapes (ysed last years old scrape location in most cases); they were even standing on their back legs nuzzling the linking branch. I ordered three different orders I felt it worked so good.

Great way to inventory bucks, and it works early season as well.

*Maybe you sprinkle the viagra on the vine?

First, you got to get the Rx. Then you got to get the pills and pay for them. Not to mention it's probably not good for the deer.

Or you could just mix up a batch of Killdee's Mock Scrape for pennies on the dollar. He swears by it and so do those who have tried it.

So sorry, I do jest with you. Thankfully BMckInnie finally saw through it.

The scrape fix comments though are for real - next thing I know I will be trouble with CWD thread; I didnt think about yep this could cause CWD too...

I do feed, I am concerned that one day CWD could be a problem; and I will stop as needed.

You guys are pretty slow, it took a while but you finally realized this was not serious Just seeing if anyone would bite - Did think I would get more traction on it than I did, guess I was getting cocky after my post about hunting past 60/70/80 thread...

Have a good weekend, I am off to the woods or post season scouting and grabbin cams and loc ons before a controlled burn!!!
