The right Ammo

My daughter recently shot her first deer using a Remington bolt action and Hornady Custom Lite 125 grain. She had an open shot , gun resting, I measured it with my range finder the next day the shot was 49 yards +-. The shot went thru both front shoulders and when the butcher processed it the bullet was against the hide on the outside of the meat but inside the hide. It didn't exit. And we had no blood to trail. I used this round as my daughter does't like the recoil. But I'm thinking next year I'll have her shoot a more convential .308 whitetail round with a little more punch.

That used to be considered optimal performance.
Today, in order to push the sale of $$$ ammo, the marketing department’s try to convince us we need “more”.

Admittedly, a Remington or _____________ (insert ammo brand) 150gr Soft Point bullet would likely have exited the deer leaving an exit wound, but then, maybe not.
Good shooting on her part.
Good training and preparation on your part.
Keep up the good work!
