Great way to put things into perspective! Dawkins is THE MAN! I read The God Delusion and my son bought a copy quite a few years ago. The Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan is a great read too.
Anyway, along the lines of the "fingernail dust" demonstration: most of the continents are moving/drifting around the planet at about the speed that our fingernails grow!
