Worms on year old pines

I planted a couple acres of loblolly pines last year and I keep a couple of the front rows clean and noticed these worms on one this morning. They had already ate most of the new growth needles off already. I had some spray I use on my garden so I sprayed the tree good and they started falling off within 5 minutes. Is this something I need to watch every day for on all my other trees in this area?

During the months of May and June, do your pines appear to be losing their needles? Look closer, are there bunches of some sort of worm on the old needles? Most likely your pines are under attack of the European Pine Sawfly!

That sure does look like them. Maybe I caught them on the first tree and killed them before they could spread
