X stand or specialists

I currently have a summit razor sd. It's a OK stand but this weekend I realized its a tank I want something lighter. I'm down to a x stand or specialists. Fellas give me some feedback before I pull the trigger. I was going to buy the specialist before I got the razor but I thought I wanted to sit and climb but now I really don't care. Public land hikes and 90* hunting is giving me a run for my money.

I have the specialist and I'm not a huge fan. It's just not very comfortable and it's also loud. I have a older version of the opens hot that's 10 times the stand that the specialist is. Comes with a foot rest also

Look up the x stand Adrenalin on sportsman guide for $149.
Same stand as the x stand x scape on their website for $319
16lbs sits great for me.

I jumped on the lone wolf bandwagon. Got the LW assault. I'm really curious about that tiny looking seat we will see when it gets here. Bowhunter supply had it for $330. Weight and packing was important. Saturday one a wma I hunt I packed my summit, and carried my bow a hour walk one way. My dad was with me and had his stuff on our game cart. He took a doe about 1130 he loaded the doe, stand climber and x bow in the cart. I'd guess he made it 75-100yds he didn't look so well. I took over the reigns and had the deer, both summit stands X bow and my bow pushing the cart. We had to cross a 10 ft embankment and took me 1:45 min back to truck thru grass and up hills. I made it but prob one of the last thing I ever imagined id face. My dad told me I'm not 30 no more I won't do that again. So I decided I needed to lighten the load and pack more efficently

I have the X-stand sit and climb and so far I really like it once I got used to the quirks of it. Mainly you can't take as big reach with the lower stand as you sit and climb due to the flex of the arms. I ended up using it more like a hand climber and I can move on up pretty good like that. As far as weight though oh man is it nice to have such a light and compact stand. I normally walk up to an hour on public land too and would actually take a full change of cloths and was give out when I hauled the ole man drone (need to get rid of that stand actually). The X stand is not as comfortable but it isn't bad either and I carry a light weight camo cushion I secure to the tree to lean back up against. For what it is and does you can't beat the X-stand if you need to walk miles and want a light functional climber.

I primarily hunt public land, so I know what you're talking about. Last season, I invested (no mistaking it as an investment!) in the LW Assault II hang-on with four LW climbing sticks and the LW Hand Climber II.

There's a trade-off with everything. The seat is definitely the downside of these stands. However, I'm glad I decided to trade a more comfortable seat for a lightweight, compact (plus quiet) stand that lets me hike in farther, see more deer, and have less weight to carry getting back out.

I also hunt public land and went through the same thing you are going through. I have been hunting from the Summit Open Shot for several years now, very light weight and comfortable.

Brewskis I see they have a seat upgrade for the hang ons. No seat upgrade for the climbers tho :( can't wait for USPS to roll in tomorrow!
