did you try Aunt Bea's recipe for those pickles?I tried to make dill pickles last year but it was an epic fail. I'm going back to store bought this year and devote my limited raised bed space to something else. I'm real good at canning peppers so I may go heavy on Jalapenos and Serranos this year.
Did you get any rain this afternoon . Heard thunder booming your way . We got a decent shower but it didn’t last long enoughYep, mine is a Covington too and apparently a lot older. Bought it on the side of the road in Roopville, neighbor had given me one that I used for a few years but it was in rough shape too. I need to replace the fertilizer bid and the tray under it. Prolly do that this winter.

Here's my little "Urbane" garden. I went heavy on the amendments but if some is good way more is better right? This one got rattlesnake beans.

Yep. That's a deer exclusion fence. My neighbor hasn't done anything to keep them out of his patch until this year so maybe we can discourage them some.

I'm still waiting on FedEx to show up with those last two bags of biochar they have lost in their "system". At this point they are overcookin' my grits. All my beds are amended, limed and fertilized. As soon as the biochar gets here I can finish soil prep and get the rest of whatever I'm going to plant going. Mater plants are sitting on my workbench just waiting on the biochar to go in the ground.
Dang! You went all in keeping them deers out. That is impressive! Dang nice lookin' garden!
Deer ain't too much of a problem here, one would think it would be opposite, but I got way too many billys around keeping their numbers in check, plus they are very skiddish compared to those urban deer.
I rode down to Franklin about 5 and it was coming a strangler down there. Kelli said it wasn't even raining at the house at the time.Yea, we got some showers off n on. Not a lot. Had more last night.

City deer ain't skurred a nuthin'. If the city didn't have an ordinance against bows and arrows I could put a blind on my roof and limit out in about a week.
I didn't know yall had a no bow ordinance. I thought most municipalities were pushing back against that?
My little produce section coming in nice!
