Yep, mine is a Covington too and apparently a lot older. Bought it on the side of the road in Roopville, neighbor had given me one that I used for a few years but it was in rough shape too. I need to replace the fertilizer bid and the tray under it. Prolly do that this winter.

I tried to make dill pickles last year but it was an epic fail. I'm going back to store bought this year and devote my limited raised bed space to something else. I'm real good at canning peppers so I may go heavy on Jalapenos and Serranos this year.
did you try Aunt Bea's recipe for those pickles?

I dont know what the deal with bugs is this year, but now there are aphids everywhere. They are even on the poison ivy in the woods!

Did you get any rain this afternoon . Heard thunder booming your way . We got a decent shower but it didn’t last long enough

Here's my little "Urbane" garden. I went heavy on the amendments but if some is good way more is better right? This one got rattlesnake beans.

Yep. That's a deer exclusion fence. My neighbor hasn't done anything to keep them out of his patch until this year so maybe we can discourage them some.

At least I got peppers going.

I'm still waiting on FedEx to show up with those last two bags of biochar they have lost in their "system". At this point they are overcookin' my grits. All my beds are amended, limed and fertilized. As soon as the biochar gets here I can finish soil prep and get the rest of whatever I'm going to plant going. Mater plants are sitting on my workbench just waiting on the biochar to go in the ground.

Dang! You went all in keeping them deers out. That is impressive! Dang nice lookin' garden!

Deer ain't too much of a problem here, one would think it would be opposite, but I got way too many billys around keeping their numbers in check, plus they are very skiddish compared to those urban deer.

City deer ain't skurred a nuthin'. If the city didn't have an ordinance against bows and arrows I could put a blind on my roof and limit out in about a week.

I rode down to Franklin about 5 and it was coming a strangler down there. Kelli said it wasn't even raining at the house at the time.

We had one of those early yesterday morning. I left my wheelbarrow out and it was almost full of rain water.

These deer out here can't move without gettin' shot at by billy or chased by stray dogs n yotes.

I didn't know yall had a no bow ordinance. I thought most municipalities were pushing back against that?

Some do, some don't. Chamblee has gone totally woke. I can't go on Nextdoor anymore. The coyote threads are off the chart and at my advanced age I can't tolerate very much stupid for very long.

I fish Murphy Candler lake every now and then but Brookhaven is even more woke than Chamblee. They require 10 lb monofilament, a single barbless hook and live bait. Most of us who fish the lake ignore the "Huck Finn" ordinance. The cops do too.
