Countdown to public land “pig” season.

Everyone always does the deer and turkey countdown, figured our feral friends need some love too.

8 days until I will be chasing pork with a .22mag and sweating gallons. To me small game opener is pig opener. I don’t bother with squirrels until it cools off. Anyone else fired up for some small game hog fun?

Yep, im another dumb one that likes to chase after a one in a million chance in 90 deg heat. I will kill a sqwerl or three early if the hogs run off.

‘Y’all ever heard of a sweat detox? The ticks and mosquitoes pull out whatever toxins the sweat doesn’t get. It’s like sauna therapy, but meat is involved. Haha

Yeah buddy! I bumped a big sounder the other day that had a few oreo's and tans mixed in. I pushed em back down in the bottom where its cooler and left em alone. Gonna walk in again sometime today or tomorrow to see if they stayed down.

I’ll be at my go-to wma pig spot once it opens. I saw a lot of deer out there last year during the early part of the small game season, but never went back during deer season. I’m going to give it a few sits this September.

3 days! Got the .22wmr sighted in with a new scope. Man that thing is a tack driver. I gotta wash some hunting clothes, treat them with permethrin and then it’s go time.
