I got the COVID

52 cases a week is pretty high. And that’s only the ones you know about. Those who tested themselves with a home test kit and tested positive, like myself, will not be counted in the total results for the county. This junk is everywhere, and will probably be around for a long time.

The unit in the hospital my wife works at is loaded. The good news is their not in the ICU.

That’s good to hear. Hopefully that trend continues. And hopefully our football season won’t be messed up again with all this mess.

I say it's here from now on, we got to live with it and quit panicking when cases fluctuate up.

Had the vaccine in July 2020 not because I wanted to , long story behind that. I made it all the way to about 7 weeks ago and got it , was over very quickly

How're you managing today @ucfireman?
Didn't sleep great last night but that is really nothing new. Nose is stopped up but I got bad sinuses anyway.
Got up and had a pancake. was feeling a lot better by lunch. Ran out and over to JJ BBQ in Franklin and got some food, I could stand outside away from everyone and not expose anyone.
Thought maybe this is it and "this wasn't that bad".
Honestly I've had flu that's been worse .
Came home ate and felt great. About 4pm my nose closed up again and am real snotty. Been sneezing and just weak again. Throat has been sore all day.
My father called and said he has a slight tickle in his throat and slight congestion. So he probably has it now too. Its his first time and he's not vaccinated. He's 72-73 in Nov. I saw him on Tuesday just as it was starting.
He needs prayers more than me.

He's got prayers too then! Glad that it sounds like the worst is behind you.

Prayers for your dad, bud. Hoping you both get to feeling better soon. It sucks!

I never got a sore throat when I had covid. And even though I was coughing a lot, I wasn’t coughing up much mucus. Mostly a dry cough. I drank a lot of water, trying to help flush the sickness out of me.

My wife & I test positive yesterday, she thought she was coming down with a cold starting Monday then on Wednesday I had severe sore throat & could feel it in inner ear. Mine continued to get worse, very little sleep Wednesday & Thursday night.
We went to Abbeville clinic Friday morning & we both were positive. Her's is not as intense as mine is thankfully. The worse throat pain I have ever had along with inner ear, headache, running nose & coughing up crazy mounts of green mucus. I'm on day 4 & it's not letting up & it has kicked my tail. Wife is close back to normal with minor symptons.

This last round is light on most folks but it is super-ridiculous contagious. I had it in July. (first time since it was invented) and before I knew I had it, I bet I gave it to a hundred people.

Yeah. seems like everyone in the hospital is COVID positive or getting over it. Very contagious.
Im better, still have a cough and coughing up a little crap.
Dad is getting better, his cough was way worse and he had the inner ear and headache.
Both of us had the bad sore throat.

I hope anyone with it gets better without any major complications.

Sounds exactly like what me and my wife just went through. She was positive last week, and I came down with it five days ago. The other thing I dealt with was severe joint pain, especially my knees. I didn’t sleep for four nights.

Crazy how this stuff hits people differently but I hope all of you that come down with it kick it to the curb quickly.

Thanks, How long did it take for you to get back close to normal? this stuff is the devil. My wife is feeling lot better but it's got me by the throat hold.

So I managed to make it 2+ years of not getting it.
I worked with a guy Sunday who was "getting over" it but was coughing like crazy.
I woke up Tuesday morning with a slight sore throat. . Tuesday night was coughing some and had palpitations and irregular heartbeats in bed. (that scared me)
Wednesday just felt miserable, like a case of the flu, some snotty nose, still a cough and muscle soreness and weak. Wednesday night I felt like I had a fever, chills and felt cold even though my skin was hot. Thermometer showed 98.7-99.1.
Thursday morning I went to work even though I felt bad and they gave me a COVID test and I was positive and they sent me home until next week.
I'm at my place in Newnan, plenty of time to do whatever but feel miserable.
By the way the "brain fog" is real. Even having some vertigo. Not like after the vaccine but I am noticing it.
You can go to any major hospital, I went to Big Piedmont in ATL within 18 hours of testing positive, get the 4 monoclonial shots. 2 in yer' belly and 2 in the fat layer in the back of each arm.
That fixed me right up.

And.. If I tested positive again, I would carry my happy butt straight back up there and do it again.
I never even had a sneeze.

I started feeling it last Sunday and tested positive Monday morning. Monday wasn’t bad, but it was worse Tuesday and by Wednesday morning I felt like I had battery acid in my throat and chest. I absolutely hate sleeping pills but after no sleep for so long I took some Wednesday night and woke up Thursday feeling a little better. I’m still dealing with a cough but everything else is back to normal.
