Army dillers tearing up my yard

I did once years back only around my home. I bet I had 10,000 if not more dead grubs all over my lawn and driveway. What helped was about 3-4 days of rain too. That granular I put down brought’em all out above the soil dying.
What did you use?

You can trap them, I've done it. You just don't use bait. Set up a live catch trap in the area they are digging in and lead them into it by staking boards in a funnel shape and connect to the trap. It works best if you have a wall to use on one side and set it up it shrubs so as to conceal the trap. They have very poor eyesight.

I usually always kill dillas at night so I have a 12ga. 3.5 in. double oo that
is my go to . No lights needed , I point at the shadow and DRT. Kill them up
to 50 yds out. Killed 2 in the last 2 wks. They seem to be on the move ....

Yesterday I put out another product to get rid of the grubs. Probably kills earthworms too which I’d like to keep but I got to stop the dillers. Didn’t see any new damage this morning.

Sorry to be Debby-Downer, but you shoot at shadows with a 12 ga 3.5" with double 00 buckshot?

Whatever happened to positive identification of what you're shooting at???

Ya'll can fire away but this just seems terribly negligent. Had I followed this philosophy I would have killed multiple dogs and a couple of humans.

Has anyone tried scattering moth balls around to see if that would stop them? I have read that they do not like them.

I had a fellow diller killer suggest making a wet area near their travel route as bait. They seem to be attracted to the damp earth and always showed up after watering my garden in a dry spell. As dry as its been i bet money that the wet dirt area will work right now.

I made a perimeter with a product sold as a snake repellent (wife bought it, I didn’t) that smelled like mothballs. Didn’t seem to deter the dillers. No new digging in the last couple of nights after putting out the grub killer. I hope it’s working.

The diminishing activity may be related to the cold temperatures at night. They hate cold weather. Next week when temperatures rise they’ll be back active.

I hate them

I wondered about that. I don’t know much about dillers.

I just let my dilla killa out every night. If there's one out there and it don't make it to it's hole, they dead.

Chalk up another one just a lil while ago. That's 5 in about a month now.

I tried shooting them with a 22 pistol but after the first shot they tend to run even if they were hit. So second and subsequent shots are very difficult.
My 20 gauge pump action worked the best for me. With Low brass small bird shot loads. It would just about rip them in half at close range! I would rush up to these critters and shoot them on the move from about 10 to 30 feet away.

I set up a couple of my Arlo Security cameras in the flower beds and yard. Get notification of movement, grab the 12 gauge with flashlight mounted and go bust em. Only way I have been able to get em. 4 this year. Hate them things.

I did some adjusting on one end of my trap. Now if they come up the hill (the direction they’ll most likely be coming) they’re almost certainly coming into the trap. You can’t funnel them too hard into a trap 6D6D81EF-4E8B-4C9C-B581-780449B24F4F.jpeg
