On one of the other forums I used to spend a lot of time on, they had a "Strangest Things You've Seen in the Woods..." thread that was epic. Sex, drunks, fights, lost people, kids climbing trees, strange noises, you name it...it was hilarious!

I must be the only person reading that thinks you've possibly watched one too many scary movies?
I'd leave the pistol at home and get down before it gets dark. That would be way safer for everyone than what you have described.

You must be scared of the dark.

This is the only one I hang out on much. I’m sure there’s a few out there I would enjoy but I keep interested here so I just stick with what works.

Interesting story taco……wish I knew what it was. Did the guy make any noises of any kind? Did you hear him walking? Strange things in the woods sometimes , especially when night falls.

Woods is better at night. I take my granddaughters walking the woods at night and they love it. As long as I’m there.

And wild dogs. There was an article in GON a couple of years ago about a hunter who was putting up a deer stand and got attacked by a couple of dogs. I bet he wishes he was carrying.

No way I'm going to the woods without a gun of some sort. You never know what you might run into.

My Cheech and Chong post was hinting at this, but I think you are dealing with someone growing dope, or someone/ a group of people living in the woods there. I’d call the game warden about hunter harassment. That way if something is afoot the law can handle it and you don’t seem like a vigilante. If something goes bad you don’t have to explain why you and 2 friends went in looking for a trouble maker and someone got hurt.

A grow operation would have been my guess if it was the season for it. It also ain't liquor running season either. I agree I would notify DNR

My cousin Mark was camping in Green Swamp years ago.
Late one night he hears someone softly calling his name.

He gets out of his tent and starts toward the sound.
It keeps getting louder.

He enters a small clearing, and there it is.
