Pellat ovens seem to be pretty popular. Not sure on price. I use a stick burner.

I was a Webber dude for most of my adult life and was a little weary of the ceramic grills and especially the cost. My wife got me an Akorn about 8 or 9 years ago and I absolutely love it. I didnt want to spend the money on an Egg and not like it. I keep mine covered and when it dies, I will replace it with another Akorn.

It's not just a smoker either as others have said.

I have had offset smokers and hated them. Every last one of them.

I use a pit boss. It's an electric pellet stove. Ribs are done in under 3 hours. A turkey doesn't take much longer. Pellets are cheap enough and several flavors available. You can get one with wifi and control it all from your phone.

You can't go wrong with an Akorn. I'd still be using mine today (over 10 years) if I had done a better job keeping it covered the last few years of it's life. As it was it still lasted a little over 7 years.

It did everything mentioned above pizza, smoking, steaks, baking.

I did buy an Akorn Jr for camping and keep it in the garage.

You won't regret the Akorn. I've been using mine steadily for about ten years now. It's a great smoker, but also a grill, pizza oven, whatever you need it to do.

Just picked one up today. Will get it going sometime this weekend probably.
