Black bear in Butts co. ?

There are plenty of bears in Florida especially in Northern part of the state so I'm sure bears could be anywhere in the state of Georgia I would think especially near any rivers they have seen bears in down town atlanta. Bears are known to travel great distance they have had collered bears run over on 85 just outside of atlana that came all they way from North Carolina .

Generally, no. They want as little to do with humans as possible. Sows with cubs can get defensive of their cubs, mainly posturing- teeth clacking, huffing, possible bluff charge, but mainly just want to get the cubs far away from you. To my knowledge most black bear attacks are in strict no/hunting zones where the bears are habituated to human food sources.

Saw what looked like bear scat at Piedmont nwr a few weeks ago. I asked the guy who works there and he said yes they have some and they have had some sightings this year.
