I doubt it happens this year, but I do see Acuna signing an extension at some point, probably in the $28-30 mil per range. Mainly because he WANTS to stay in Atlanta and has made that very clear. Fried? He won't re-sign. He is a California kid, and the Cali teams will simply throw way too much money at him for AA to even consider competing. AA will probably offer a 3-4 year deal at around $30 mil. He'll sign for at least 7 years and that you can bank on. AA will sign a starter in the off season and either Waldrup or Shawver fills in the other rotation gap.
As far as this season, I see some regression with Ozuna (no way he replicates 2023) and Olson. Although Olson still hits at least 40 bombs, so the term regression may be a little strong in his case. Riley hasn't even hit his stride yet, he may put up even bigger numbers in 2024.
AA also addressed the bench, and I agree with him. It's hard to invest in high level talent to fill bench roles when the starters refuse to take a game off. And with the DH (which I absolutely do like), pinch hitters have become totally obsolete. In-season trades to cover a major injury should one happen are the way to go with this lineup.
Now about that lineup. 1-3 in the order, the Braves and Dodgers are fairly even. But 1-9, there is no team even close to the Braves. I see Kelenic in the .260/15/60 range probably hitting in the 8 hole.
