Deer hunting this weekend

It dosen’t get much better. Did I get a deer…….nope, did I see a whopper……nope. Well what made this weekend so special? My daughter went to Augusta to spend the weekend with her mother and my son-in-law came out to deer camp to hunt with me. He has a pretty high stress job and doesn’t get to get out in the woods much as his work keeps him busy even on weekends, so getting him here was a success. He didn’t have any luck with the deer either, but he did get a great chance to decompress, even taking an afternoon nap in a camp chair. We ate good and enjoyed a sip of whiskey together in the evenings. He can’t make it back here until in December, but we are already planning our next hunt together. I am fortunate to have this young man as a son-in-law

Oh, I am still at deer camp so maybe I can yet top off the weekend with a nice buck.
