Dog bitten

I think my dog was bitten by a copperhead. I didn’t see the bite but her face swelled up for several hours and went away? Is this normal? She seems fine now no swelling isn’t lethargic or anything. Did I just get lucky or could it be something else? I killed a copperhead last week at the house is the only reason I’m leaning to it

Take the collar off, give a benadryl and call the vet to be sure

Look for some fang marks. Otherwise, maybe she just got into a yellow jacket nest?

What breed and how big is she? We had a lot of rattlesnake bites at Lackland AFB, always took the collar off, gave one benadryl and got them to the vet

Belgian Malinois maybe 45 pounds. She has a small looks like cut on her lip. Has no symptoms now just curious

Nice breed. Might have just got a partial invenomation, one fang.

Still take the collar off incase of swelling, benadryl and call the vet to be safe.

Most of ours were Dutchies, mals and GSHs, always hit around the head to shoulders. Most the skin would slough off from rattler bites around the bite area
