I am sanding down a couple gun stocks. not sure of the type wood but think they are walnut. have a stain called jacobean that is sorta dark. what do I do to preserve the wood. tung oil prolly will not work. need something to keep out rain/moisture.
do I put the water repel on first or after I stain? don't want a shiny look--that's what I am trying to get rid of on one. Thanks for any help.
