May be a stretch, but I’m bored - anybody have growth examples from year to year?

This is awesome because the bone structure for all three seems so different to be around the same agr
Two different counties and soil types. Thankfully the neighbors for both farms are QDM oriented folk so we are all working towards the same goals.

Genetics & soil composition definitely play a factor as well. One county has dozens of P&Y entries, the other just a handful.

The biggest takeaway I’ve learned following specific bucks (as best as one possibly can) is not all bucks will hit +120”.

So regardless of antler score, I’ll typically aim to kill bucks 4YO or older if possible. I’m not a stickler to that though. 7C57192B-96A4-4220-BA4E-71DA6302A88D.jpeg

Sometimes they just never get big. 2016 and 2018 View attachment 1224111View attachment 1224112

IMO probably ~30% of bucks will never get over 100” in regards to antler size/score.

IF one was in a club etc “managing” their herd (QDM) these bucks should be the first targeted. Hopefully by a kid, newer hunter, spouse etc...

These bucks are still absolutely trophies, the older I get the more I seek out a wide, heavy, chocolate racked 4pt.

Just my .02

I agree! I don’t mind shooting a management buck myself especially if I have history with him.
