Question about fishing with braided line.

I think thirty pound braid is overkill on bass and stripers.
My bed ten to twenty pound would do just fine.
You will get great action on braid in general because there'snear zero water drag on the line.
My thirty pound braid rigs took the place of fifty to sixty # mono.

Don't I also need to attach a leader on the braid due to it being hi vis in the water to the fish?

Fluorocarbon leader is the ticket with braid. Seagar blue label is my favorite. Maybe 15# for you. The Alberto knot is your friend.

I also put a small piece of electrical tape on the spool so the braid doesn’t spin. Good luck. Alberto knot is a very good knot, I use it all the time when I tie two line together.

Braid to fluoro we use double uni knot, no issues.

Whatever you use, never get the braid wrapped around your finger when setting the hook or hung up.

It will cut you.
