Yes, I am taking a chance. Doctor gave me all clear to drive so going out this Tuesday to range to try the Handloads (if they work, will have maker up the velocity) and same ammo (but with poor bullet construction) from the ammo manufacturer that is working on a better constructed bullet (similar weight) in their offering for elk. I also am going to try to buy a box or two of Reed's and Norma ammo if I can get it. Gives me 4 choices. Whatever is most accurate in my gun, I will use sparingly just for sighting in and the rest I will use for target practice and hunting deer. Ranges I hunt deer is usually less than 100 yards. I now see the logic in getting a 308 or 30-06 for the new gun. Live, learn and save up for a new gun.
